WWE Extreme Rules 2012 took place on Sunday night, live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. It was the fourth event under the Extreme Rules chronology. The main event between John Cena and Brock Lesnar started off with a bang, with Cena tackling Lesnar and Lesnar getting the upper hand with vicious-looking elbow that cut Cena wide open.
At the pre-show for WWE's highly-anticipated Extreme Rules pay-per-view, U.S Champion Santino Marella defeated The Miz to retain his title. Other bouts include CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE Title and Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus for the World Title.
