Saturday night's White House Correspondents Dinner is one of the most anticipated events of the year for both journalists and celebrities alike. Greta Van Susteren attended the Time/People reception but minus invited guest Lindsay Lohan , who had to hop a later flight to D.C. after missing her originally scheduled 1 p.m. travel time.
After missing her flight from to the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Lindsay Lohan was clearly in a bit of a huff when she tried to get another plane. Nicknamed "nerd prom" by D.C. insiders, this year's event promises to bring together an interesting mix of policy bigwigs and Hollywood celebrities (some of whom play big-time government officials on television) to munch on Texas Rubbed Petite Filet and Rich Chocolate Truffle Mousse.
George Clooney and Zooey Deschanel – having been invited by Fox News, Time and Bloomberg, respectively, Politico reports. Ms. Lohan will be guest of Fox's Greta Van Susteren and accompanied by her lawyer, Shawn Holley.
Google and The Hollywood Reporter teamed up for their first White House Correspondents' Dinner party Friday with the goal of "merging digital and Hollywood." The White House Correspondents' Association dinner is traditionally attended by the president and first lady, along with various government officials and members of the press corps.
